Established in 1986 - Opened in July of 1986 by George & Anna Marie, who are not only the owners but the main operators and chef. George was born and raised in Chania, Crete, Greece, where he started his culinary career by owning his own restaurant at the age of 18, and continuing his education as the #2 Chef for the Greek Army base, feeding 1,000 soldiers everyday. As George made his way to America, he completed 3 Chef certifications here in South Florida and after marrying Anna Marie they opened up the Plaza Diner. Anna Marie was born and raised in Long Island, NY but has a strong Italian upbringing, as both of her parents were immigrants from Reggio Calabria, Italy. This is a family restaurant, ran by George, Anna, and their daughters everyday of the year.
